Where we’re going, we don’t need roads

Thanksgiving is a holiday in which we remember all those things in our lives that we are thankful for. The first thing that comes to mind is spending time with those closest to us and we would love to remind you that there is no better place to spend that time than at Mount Peter! Come grab some good times, great laughs, tasty food, and refreshing beverages when you need that wonderful break from shredding our fluffy powder. Mount Peter is thankful to all our patrons for sharing our love of snow sports.

Monday, November 20th was our first night making snow and we will continue to do so as the temperatures allow. Tell us if we are wrong, but we believe there is nothing better than that first lift ride looking down at the pale blue reflection of our wonderful sky in the fresh corduroy.

We are also thankful for those nice, comfortable lift rides. A place where more magic happens. We all know how much closer we get and grow together on those wonderful chairs. We get a quiet respite from the slopes and can recharge and relax with those closest to us. Is there any better way to spend a winter’s day than on the slopes and lifts?

This year we will celebrate our 88th anniversary, which reminds me of a favorite quote from the great movie Back to the Future. The famous Marty McFly says, “Hey, Doc, we better back up. We don’t have enough road to get up to 88.” To which the eccentric Dr. Emmett Brown replies in such a cool manner, “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.” The pair then continues to hover, then take off in the infamous DeLorean Time Machine. Don’t we sometimes feel as though we are flying when gliding down the mountain?

Whether you are a skier, snowboarder, or enjoy a lovely ride tubing, remember that once you get to Mount Peter, you leave the pavement behind and become one with nature. Is there anything better than carving down the mountain and leaving life’s troubles behind?

We are excited about the start of another season, with lots of cold and snow on the horizon. We are also thankful for the wonderful workers at Woglom Construction for their amazing work on our new renovations. This summer has been a very busy one. We could not be happier with the progress that our ski area has made this year. We are in the final stages of finishing up our brand-new kitchen and have expanded our snowmaking capacity. Thank you all for continuing to support and enjoy Mount Peter with us!
