Eighty-eighth season to debut continued enhancements at New York’s Family Mountain

WARWICK, N.Y. (Dec. 21, 2023) – Mount Peter, New York’s family mountain, opens for the 2023-2024 season on Saturday, Dec. 23.

Mount Peter is excited to announce that, new for the eighty-eighth season, it has expanded its snowmaking capacity and built a new, larger kitchen. An upgraded pumphouse allows the operators to create more snow to complement Mother Nature when needed. With the many kitchen upgrades and new equipment, watch for an expanded menu. Additionally, snow lovers have food trucks on hand weekly to offer quick, tasty bites after working up an appetite on the slopes.

“With more snow and more great food choices, the fun times at Mount Peter keep getting better!” said Executive Manager Amy Sampson-Cutler. “We’re always looking for and embracing ways to offer more fun on our mountain so our guests can continually maximize all the outdoor excitement that winter has to offer. Plus, we’re a convenient drive from anywhere in the New York metropolitan area. We hope to see you!”

The improvements are the latest in a series of enhancements at Mount Peter over the past few years. Last year, Mount Peter expanded and redesigned its Snow Basin Learning Center – including a third carpet lift conveyer belt to the top of the beginner hill – to provide an even more enjoyable experience for guests learning to ski or ride.

The previous year, Mount Peter added a 5,000-square-foot rental shop, more than double the previous rental space. The ski center also introduced an online system that allows guests to plan a trip in advance and purchase tickets at www.mtpeter.com.

Winter outdoor enthusiasts of all levels are welcome. Mount Peter’s famous FREE beginner lessons are offered on weekends and holidays to introduce newcomers to the sport. Mount Peter also offers private and family lessons, including mid-week learn-to-ski and snowboard packages.

Guests are encouraged to check out Mount Peter’s online snow report. You can also call the Mount Peter Snow Phone at (845) 986-4992 to hear the latest trail openings and conditions.

Just an hour drive from the George Washington Bridge, Mount Peter is located at 51 Old Mount Peter Road in Warwick, N.Y. For more information, visit mtpeter.com.
