Learn to Ski and Snowboard
September, 2012
Weekday programs
Hello skiers and riders, and welcome to the winter of 2012-2013! I know that it is still technically fall, but the weather is quickly turning cold, and winter will be here before we know it. We have a lot of options this season for the beginner and intermediate skier and rider, as well as those looking to continue to learn. Our multi-week programs are a fun way to learn and improve, meet new people, and get outside and enjoy our favorite season!
If you are interested in multi-week programs that are held mid-week, Tuesday-Friday, please read below. If you are interested in our weekend programs, please click here
Mount Peter’s Multi-Week Ski and Snowboard Program, for both beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders, is a fun way to either learn the sports of skiing and snowboarding, or to improve your skills.
The eight-week program begins the first week of January (although those in the Tuesday program will begin the next week due to the holiday). For kids (ages 5 and up for skiing and 6 and up for snowboarding), it is offered Tuesday through Friday nights. You choose the night that is best for your child, and come for eight consecutive weeks on that same night. The adult program is offered Tuesday evenings, and Thursday morning and evening.
Participants pay for just seven weeks, and the eighth week is free, to be used as a make-up for a missed session, or just as some extra time on the slopes. The program is ala carte, meaning that you only have to sign-up for what you need. We offer lift tickets (which are good from 3 p.m.-closing for the evening program, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. for the adult daytime program), lessons (which are an hour per session), and rentals. Remember, if you do not have a season pass, you will need to purchase the ticket portion of the program. A season pass/lift ticket is considered an “area ticket,” which you must have in order to be on the snow.
The deadline to sign up for the early rate is November 19, 2012. Please note that there will be a mandatory parent meeting the first day your child starts the program in Pete’s Place at 15 minutes past your child’s start time; so if class starts at 5 p.m., the meeting is at 5:15 p.m. For the adult program, there will be a meeting at the start of the program, on the mountain when you meet your instructor.
These programs fill up very fast, so sign-up soon! If you have any questions, please give the mountain a call at 845-986-4940, or stop by customer service Monday-Friday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. All of the forms can also be found on the web at mtpeter.com, under the “forms” heading. Otherwise, send in you or your child’s form to guarantee your preferred day.
See you on the slopes!!!
Think snow!
Sincerely,
Amy Sampson-Richardson, Director of Sales and Services
